The Beyerlein Group is excited to welcome two first-year Ph.D. students, Hana Hussain and Gabriel Ponon, to UC Santa Barbara. Hana joins the group as a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering and will focus on Crystal Plasticity modeling. Before joining UCSB, Hana received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University. Gabriel joins the group as a Ph.D. student in Materials and will focus on modeling plasticity using Phase Field Dislocation Dynamics. Before joining UCSB, Gabriel received both a B.S.E. and an M.S.E. in Materials Science & Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
