Yixi Shen Receives Travel Award to AI Unlocked National Workshop
Postdoctoral researcher Yixi Shen has received a travel award from AI Unlocked: Empowering Higher Education through Research and Discovery, a national workshop sponsored by ACCESS, the NAIRR Pilot, and the University of Colorado Boulder. Scheduled for June 2–3, 2026, the workshop brings together researchers, educators, and students to explore how AI tools can be integrated into research and higher education.
At the workshop, Yixi will share the Beyerlein group's work on AI-accelerated materials modeling, focusing on machine-learning surrogate models trained from molecular-dynamics simulations to predict incoherent twin boundary migration in Ni–Cr nanotwinned alloys. This work connects high-performance computing, AI workflows, and multiscale materials modeling to accelerate the discovery and design of structural materials. Congratulations to Yixi on this recognition!
