Members of the Beyerlein research group, together with fellow Materials and Mechanical Engineering graduate students, formed a team called The Slip Planes to compete in the 4th Annual Alpha Resource Center Plane Pull. The team successfully pulled a Boeing 737 aircraft 20 feet down the tarmac at Santa Barbara Airport.

In preparation for the October 25th event, The Slip Planes raised funds to benefit the Alpha Resource Center, a local nonprofit organization that provides vital support services and programming for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. More information about the Alpha Resource Center's mission and services can be found here.
